RJI Receives 3rd Largest Donation in University's History
(2009-08-25)
(KBIA) - The University of Missouri announced today the third largest gift in university history. A $15 million grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation will fully fund operating costs at the Reynolds Journalism Institute for the next five years. Dean of Journalism Dean Mills says the 15-million dollar grant will pay for fellowships, salaries and, equipment at RJI.

"When the foundation originally funded RJI, they funded the construction of the facilities and then operating expenses for a few years. This assures five years of continuing operations full-tilt."

RJI sponsors projects that support new media innovation. It also provides a working laboratory for the school's journalism students. Mills says the grant also includes money to invest in new ventures that will generate revenue for RJI.
