H1N1 Believed to Be on MU Campus
"This week, the first week of school, we have seen approximately 14 students at the health center with flu-like symptoms. Health professionals at the health center have received an additional 34 phone calls from students who have flu-like symptoms."
Dr. Michael Cooperstock is the medical director of the infection control department at university of Missouri Hospital. He says the H1N1 virus is no different than any other influenza seen in years past, except the fact that it is occurring in the summertime.
Basi advises students who feel like they have flu symptoms to stay at home until 24-hours after their fevers have broken. Basi says people should wash their hands and use hand sanitizers frequently to avoid getting sick.

University of Missouri officials say they are seeing an increasing number of students with flu-like symptoms. Christian Basi is a spokesperson for the university.
