Missouri's Conservation Future Discussed at Summit
"Over 90,000 jobs are related to outdoors here in Missouri 11.4 billion dollars each year comes into our state for commerce related to forest, fish and wildlife. It's an important thing to each and every citizen."
The summit went beyond outdoor activities to discuss issues such as energy efficiency and wildlife education. Governor Nixon, noted things the federation has achieved such as making Missouri's air cleaner over the past 15 years. The summit continues through this afternoon.

Governor Jay Nixon met with outdoor leaders from around the state yesterday at the Summit on the Future of Missouri Outdoors, to discuss strategies to sustain and improve Missouri's outdoor. The Conservation Federation of Missouri was established 75 years ago to make sure wildlife was protected. Since then the program has expanded and tries to teach Missourians the value of the nature around them.
