MU Student Holds World's Only Perfect NCAA Bracket
(2009-03-26)
(KBIA) - When the MU Men's basketball team plays Memphis tonight they'll have more than just their season on the line. KBIA's Shane Hoffman tells us how an MU loss would shatter the hopes and dreams of one MU student who currently holds the last remaining perfect bracket.

Only one bracket in the world remains perfect.

That bracket belongs to MU Junior Hank Sherman, who filled out his bracket on the social networking site Facebook. Every year millions of people fill out brackets to predict the winners of every game in the men's NCAA tournament. Since Sherman filled out his bracket, his profile has received nearly 2000 comments and more than 85 friend requests from people all over the world. Sherman says the amount of attention he's received online from followers has taken him by surprise.

"It's really interesting having a following all of a sudden and completely unexpected."

Sherman's roommate, Mike Kroger, is equally surprised. Kroger says Sherman's internet popularity is a sharp contrast to how he's known in public.

"On the internet he's this huge celebrity and I think that's hilarious that like in one place he's unknown and in another place everyone knows who he is."

Sherman picked MU to win the National Championship. Although he will be cheering on his team tonight against Memphis, he says if he could do it all over again he would pick the University of Connecticut over MU in the Elite Eight.
