RJI forum examines future of news organizations during the digital age
(2010-06-24)
(KBIA) - Journalists and media consultants are putting their heads together in an attempt to increase profits and make the Internet more user-friendly.

The Reynolds Journalism Institute is holding a conference to find better methods of delivering and producing news in the digital age. Microsites will group specialized information together in one location. Bill Densmore is a consultant for RJI. He helped bring top professionals together for the three-day forum.

"Part of the objective of the research is to create tools that allow consumers to conveniently find the news that matters to them, and also to create platforms that make the production of that news sustainable."

A representative from the Associated Press announced the news agency will be releasing a college football microsite this fall. The agency says the release of more microsites is expected.
