Soccer League Closes in Mid-Missouri
(2010-03-10)
(KBIA) - The recent decision to close the Central Missouri Soccer League has left the Mid-Missouri area without an organized soccer program. League officials decided to close in response to various administrative issues, including the unauthorized removal of funds from the Leagues account. Spokesperson Ryan Burke says the board plans to create a new league sometime in the near future. He also says that the new league will make administrative changes to prevent future problems.

"The biggest thing is a more active board and more transparency in financial dealings. I think those are two pillars."

It could take up to a year to form a new soccer league in Mid-Missouri. The Central Missouri Soccer league plans to hold a series of friendly tournaments in the spring for kids who are already involved in the program.
