Members from the Missouri Association for Community Action met with lawmakers yesterday (Tuesday). Meetings between the 19 individual community action agencies from around the state met with their district legislators to discuss how best to help the poor and unemployed. MACA's communications manager Jessica Long says community action agencies also provided exhibits at the capital."All 19 of our community action agencies came and had an exhibit that was set up regarding either energy and housing, food assistance, education, family or economic security or health."
The topics covered in these exhibits represent the MACA's pillars and how it helps communities around Missouri. Locally the Central Missouri Community Action agency is providing a variety of services. The agency has helped those who are unemployed find work and provided assistance while they search for a job. © Copyright 2010, KBIA
