Bustamante Tried as Adult in Murder of Nine-Year-Old JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KBIA) - Fifteen-year-old Alyssa Bustamante showed no emotion when Cole County Judge Jon Beetem made his ruling Wednesday. According to court documents, Bustamante is accused of killing Olten by stabbing, strangling, and cutting her throat. Maggie Fowler attended the same high school as Bustamante:

"Are you shocked that someone you went to school with is allegedly capable..."
"Yes, yes! I never thought about it in Missouri...Jefferson City...St. Martins, really, yeah."

A State Trooper testified that Bustamante killed Olton because, quote, "she wanted to know what it felt like." Members of Olten's family quietly wept throughout the proceedings. © Copyright 2010, KBIA
