Columbia City Council Rethinks Bicycle Ordinance
During the council's bi-monthly meeting last night Councilmember Jerry Wade asked the council to reconsider its vote to pass the ordinance because of community reaction to the measure.
At least ways for myself, and as I have thought back on it, I made a mistake, and I became even more convinced with the amount of people that were in contact with upset about it.
According to the ordinance harassment includes throwing objects at a bicyclist, threatening a person riding a bike, sounding a horn, shouting, or any other sound used to distract or threaten a bicyclist.
The council has scheduled a vote on whether or not to suspend the ordinance, at its August 17th council meeting.
