Missouri Department of Transportation facing budget shortage
Speaking at a Transportation Commission meeting Thursday morning, he says the shortage would be the result of cuts in federal dollars for transportation.
This could mean Missouri would have $170 million dollars for state projects and $50 million less for projects in local cities and counties.
"This will have a major negative impact on our overall program and would be impacting contractors in communities at exactly the time when we do not want to be doing that with the state of the construction industry and local economies."
