Nixon Fights Bridge Trial Transfer
(2005-08-02)
(KBIA) - The Missouri Supreme Court is considering a last-minute appeal by Attorney General Jay Nixon on where to hear a lawsuit involving an old railroad bridge in Boonville. Nixon is asking the court to not transfer the trial venue from Cooper County, where the bridge is located, to Cole Count.
A judge ordered the case moved to Cole County, where most lawsuits involving the state are handled.
Nixon is challenging a decision by Governor Blunt's administration which gives up the state's right to use the bridge in Boonville for the Katy Trail State Park.
