Photo exhibit displays children in heed of homes
"If you don't know what's happening, you don't know all these kids need a home, no one's going to do anything. I feel like getting their faces out there really helps people be aware."
The Heart Gallery will be on display throughout the Daniel Boone Regional Library for a week. According to the Missouri Department of Social Services, there are more than 9000 children in state's foster care system.

COLUMBIA, MO
(KBIA) -
A new exhibit at the Daniel Boone Regional Library is showing the faces of children in need of loving homes. The Heart Gallery is a traveling photo display, featuring 240 Missouri children waiting to be adopted. The hope is to encourage adults to become foster parents, and ultimately adoptive parents. Ashley Turner is a professional photographer who volunteered to take portraits of some of the children. She's a former case worker, and says it's important for people to see the personal side of foster care."If you don't know what's happening, you don't know all these kids need a home, no one's going to do anything. I feel like getting their faces out there really helps people be aware."
