Conference Explores Midwestern Immigrants
The 9th annual Cambio de Colores conference features sessions on economic development, health care, education, and human trafficking. At a welcome session Monday, University of Missouri System President Gary Forsee discussed the University's involvement in the national Access to Success program and the importance of diversity to the UM System.
"For our students to understand the importance of diversity where they live, work and go to school is very important. I think for the University of Missouri to have a chance to support this kind of conference which brings together those of us that are trying to insure that that foundation is established for Latinos in this case to have a chance to aspire to a better place is something that's very important."
The conference is organized by the university's Cambio Center, which focuses on immigration and cultural issues in Missouri.
