Jerry Wade to Run for Columbia Mayor
(2009-09-15)
(KBIA) - City Councilmember Jerry Wade announced Tuesday afternoon that he will be running for Mayor of Columbia.

The Fourth Ward Representative made the announcement in an effort to end the speculation on what his plans were for the April election.

"I believe that I have the qualifications and the ability to be a good mayor," Wade said. "I want to continue my community service to Columbia and to do that in the role of mayor."

Wade was elected to the City Council in 2007.

The current mayor, Darwin Hindman, was first elected in 1995 and is serving his fifth term.
