The Moberly Community is gathering in remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001, tonight. The event is called "A Night of Honor." All are welcome to come to the Moberly Municipal Auditorium and enjoy gospel music, special speakers, and dinner free of charge to remember the eight year anniversary. Chairman Doug Coonce says he wants this event to be a public honor for all of the community, not just for the church.
"We're hoping to continue this to remember 9-11 because that's the day that no one should ever forget and the day that America stood still."
Branson native and USO spokesperson Jennifer Wilson will lead the event's entertainment and activities. A flag folding ceremony will also be a key part of this event. There will be a timeline of everything that happened while people light candles in remembrance of those who paid the sacrifice on that day. The event begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6.
