City Answers Questions About New Bicycle Ordinance
(2009-07-23)
(KBIA) - The Columbia Police Department is hoping to clear up some confusion about a new bicycle ordinance. Now on the police departments website is a copy of the ordinance and a list of frequently asked questions. The City council passed the ordinance last month to make harassing bicyclists a crime. It addresses specific things like throwing objects at cyclists. In addition to get more information about the ordinance online, you can now report complaints there too. Police chief Ken Burton says Columbia residents will continue to see the police department make more information available online, whether it's a new ordinance, information about police services, or other matters of safety and interest.

Information about the ordinance, as well as the Police Department's on-line reporting system can be found at www.gocolumbiamo.com .
