Fulton Company Cuts Employee Hours
(2009-06-29)
(KBIA) -

Fulton printing company Ovid (AH-VID) Bell is cutting employee hours by 20 percent starting July 13th. In the current economic crisis, Ovid Bell and other printing companies are having a hard time staying afloat during the slow summer months. CEO John Bell says reducing hours is the best way to save the company money and avoid lay offs.

"Our people are of utmost importance to this company. People can have printing presses, they can have computer systems, they can have pine green mailing efficiencies. And we have all of that, but it is the people that make this company."

The company has hired more salesmen to help bring in business during the slow summer months. Bell says these efforts have been successful. Bell says he hopes business will pick up as usual in September and the company will be able to return to its regular hours. Ovid Bell says employees will not lose benefits but that benefits will be adjusted according to the hour cuts. © Copyright 2010, KBIA
