10/20/11 Newscast - More than 1,000 Alaska Natives gathered for the Elders and Youth Conference; Annual Alaska Federation of Natives Convention to begin amid talk of differences between tribes and for-profit Native corporations ANCHORAGE, AK (kbc) - The annual Elders and Youth Conference featured inspirational speakers and workshops. The theme of the 2011 Alaska Federation of Natives Convention getting underway is unity. Participants expect to discuss differences between tribes and corporations created under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971.
