Supervisors approve county-written General Plan, then send it to ballot
(2007-01-04)
(kazu) - Seven years, seven million dollars and now, voters will have their say on the next Monterey County General Plan. That's the controversial document that covers all county land use decisions for the next 20 years. The Board of Supervisors wants to give voters two choices: the county-written and relatively development-friendly update to the previous General Plan, known as GPU4; and the General Plan Initiative, written by slow-growth advocates. But on Wednesday, the already long and tortuous path to a new general plan got even more confusing. KAZU's Ben Adler reports. © Copyright 2010, kazu
