Stroke is the most common cause of disability in adults with 795,000 people suffering from a stroke every year in the United States. Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS) emergency room physician Jay Pennock, MD will address the issue of stroke prevention and awareness in a free Ask the Experts presentation May 8th.
Dr. Pennock joined the medical staff and the Emergency Department of Salinas Valley Memorial in 1996 and has treated hundreds of stroke patients. He is chair of the Physician well-being Committee and the physician director of Wellness at Work – a healthcare collaborative of SVMHS and Central Coast VNA & Hospice. Dr. Pennock is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
