Friends of Music concludes its 2013-2014 season with the annual performance in Kennett by the Dexter-based Southeast Missouri Regional Jazz Orchestra on Saturday, August 2, 5:00 p.m., in the Mayes Fellowship Hall of First Christian Church, W. Washington at N. Jackson Streets, in Kennett.

The Orchestra, led by Scott Rybolt, has become a regular visitor to Kennett, and will continue its tradition of offering an informal, upbeat, and fun tribute to the rich history of American big band jazz. This is a program for the entire family.
Admission is free, and the public is cordially invited.
Members of the Orchestra are Brandon Moore, Pride Wilder, Kyle Dare, Scott Rybolt, and Lauren Dudley, saxophones; Jeremy Frazier, Brooke DeArman, James Eldreth, Adam Clark, and Cody Jinkerson, trumpets; Matt Gates, Alex Martin, Corey Bennett, and Ken DeArman, trombones; Samantha Schupbach, piano; Kyle Clay, bass guitar; Owen Flowers and Addison Moore, drums.
The program includes The Star Spangled Banner, In The Mood, Peanut Vendor, Beauty and the Beast, Hit the Ground Runnin’, Johnny's Theme (from "The Tonight Show”), Corner Pocket (Count Basie), Little Brown Jug, Makin’ Whoopee (bass trombone featured), Brass Machine, Bill (trumpet duet), Village Dance, West Side Story Suite (Buddy Rich), Fly Me to the Moon, and The Chicken! (and maybe a couple more . . .).
