As part of the Arkansas State University-Newport Concert/Lecture Series, Legends of Motown featuring Horizon will take the stage of the ASUN Center for the Arts Feb. 15. The authentic, energetic, precise, harmonic, witty and well-choreographed performance, part of ASUNís observance and celebration of Black History Month, is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Dressed in classic Motown style, Rick Ingram, Prentiss "Smoke" Jones and Earl Vinson will have the audience eating out of their hands, finger snapping, moving, remembering and wanting to hear more of it all over again. Horizon's 3-piece accompaniment consists of drums, guitar and keyboard/bass synthesizer. Horizon was spotted on The Tonight Show hosted by Jay Leno in a clip from the New York Auto Show, and was featured in Business Week Magazine, not to mention John Sally's The Best Damn Sports Show Period, harmonizing a special Super Bowl greeting to Detroit.
Horizon has shared the stage with many legendary performers, including The Temptations and The Four Tops.
Legends of Motown featuring Horizon will be presented absolutely free, but because ASUN expects a capacity crowd, this is a ticketed event. Tickets may be obtained in advance by visiting or calling the ASUN Business Office at 870-512-7802. There is a 4-ticket per person limit for this performance.
