Several Street Closings Looming
Please use caution and follow detour signage during the project. For specific bus route changes visit http://transport.tamu.edu/announce.aspx. TxDOT will close the inside southbound lane for approximately two whole days on SH 6 for curing purposes from Greens Prairie to the Speedway.Beginning Monday, May 14, TxDOT's contractor will close one main lane on SH 6, both northbound and southbound, from William D Fitch to the Speedway overpass. These lane closures are needed to complete the preparation of the pavement surface for the application of a unique roadway material that promotes better drainage across the roadway. These lane closures could be in affect from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday; however, TxDOT and the contractor will work together to minimize disruption to motorists during peak traffic times. Various ramps may be closed for short durations. When this occurs, message boards will be in place to direct motorists to their proper exit. All the above work is part of a $15.4 million dollar project contracted to Glenn Fuqua, Inc. to construct an overpass at Nantucket Drive and to improve drainage and the roadway surfaces for the main lanes and frontage roads. TxDOT and Glenn Fuqua, Inc. appreciate the patience of the traveling public during this construction. © Copyright 2009, kamu
