KAMU FM TURNS 30!
The station will host an open house reception from 2:00-6:00 PM, March 30, Audio Video located at 909 E. University Drive in College Station. The reception will also include a special peek into the new era of HD technology at KAMU FM. Penny Zent, Station Manager at KAMU FM, said "This will be a great way for everyone to see first hand how this digital HD technology looks and sounds."
The anniversary will also be the kickoff for the new HD on-air sound, as engineers at KAMU FM are ready to switch to the new HD transmission on March 30.
At the reception, the staff will be on hand to show visitors how a new KAMU FM channel will soon be available to those with HD receivers. According to Zent, KAMU FM will be the first radio station in College Station, Bryan to go HD. "The technology will allow us to eventually have two additional channels for broadcasting. We plan to implement the first one as an all talk NPR channel right away." Zent said.
Everyone is invited to the anniversary reception and HD kickoff, March 30, at Audio Video in College Station.

KAMU-FM will celebrate its 30th Anniversary on March 30, 2007 with a reception and a peek preview of its new HD technology and future HD channels.The station will host an open house reception from 2:00-6:00 PM, March 30, Audio Video located at 909 E. University Drive in College Station. The reception will also include a special peek into the new era of HD technology at KAMU FM. Penny Zent, Station Manager at KAMU FM, said "This will be a great way for everyone to see first hand how this digital HD technology looks and sounds."
