Have you found out you have diabetes?
this 5-week class series beginning February 5 and continuing February, 12, 19, 26 and March 5, 2007 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at the B-CS Community Health Center, located at 3370 Texas Avenue South in
Bryan. Adults with type 2 diabetes and their caregivers can register by calling Texas Cooperative Extension- Brazos County office at 979.823.0129 today. The cost is $10 which covers educational
materials. Four nutrition and five self-care lessons, such as What is Diabetes?, Managing Your Blood Glucose, Exercise, Medications, Preventing and Managing Complications, and more are taught by
registered dietitians, doctors, health educators, and a nurse practitioner. Past class participants have said, The information I received was extremely beneficial to me. I liked being able to ask questions and being with other people who are diabetic. Participants have improved their ability to recognize and limit foods likely to significantly raise their blood glucose as a result of taking the classes. Persons needing auxiliary aides or services to participate in this program should contact the county Extension office at 979.823.0129 by January 29th.
