San Francisco's Budget Crunch SAN FRANCISCO, CA (kalw) - San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom announced in late November a 229 million dollar shortfall in the city's budget for the next fiscal year. The gap is partly due to the passage of ballot measures such as Proposition A, which allocated an additional 26 million dollars to MUNI.
