Michael Steinberg by Host Alan Farley Michael Steinberg, program annotator, pre-concert speaker, and the San Francisco Symphony's former Artistic Adviser, died July 26 at eighty after a long battle with cancer.
Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas said "Michael Steinberg wrote of music with great erudition, but perhaps more importantly, with great affection. There was never any doubt of his belief in music's power to enrich and transform our lives, and he at all times shared his knowledge and insight in an inclusive and generous way."

As a tribute to Michael we are rebroadcasting his appearance on "My Favorite Things" from January, 1989.
