On Friday, Feb. 21, at 2 PM at Iowa City's downtown Java House, IPR Studio One's Ben Kieffer will host a special hour of "Java Blend" with Comfort Kings.
Stop by The Java House in Iowa City for a special hour with Comfort Kings.
Ben Kieffer will chat with the band to find out more about them while the band performs a live 50-minute set. This program is free and open to the public!
The Comfort Kings are a contemporary acoustic band from the hills of the Cedar Valley in Iowa. They play a mix of old-time, Americana, indie rock and original work using a traditional bluegrass instrumental arrangement. All three members draw on the rich history of regional Americana melodies to create original songs with vivid, poetic lyrics that evoke bygone eras.
Their full-length studio release, “Prairie Fire,” produced by the Aquatic Noise label in Excelsior, Minn., was released in early 2013. “Prairie Fire” features a mixture of original tunes and timeless folk arrangements and has been featured on the Iowa Public Radio show “The Folk Tree.”
This program will air Saturday, March 8 at 2 PM on IPR Studio One. Stay tuned for more new Java Blend artists!
