On Friday, September 13, at 2 PM at Iowa City's downtown Java House, IPR Studio One's Ben Kieffer will host a special hour of "Java Blend" with FireSale.
Ben Kieffer will chat with the band to find out more about them, and the band will also perform a live 50-minute set. This program is free and open to the public!
FireSale is an original act out of Iowa City that mixes reggae, dub, rock & roll and many other personal influences into their own signature groove. Originally from Davenport they have been together since 2007 and since then have transformed their sound from playing punk rock covers to writing and performing their own original reggae/world music.
FireSale released a full length self-titled album in late 2009. In August 2012 they released their 2nd full length album, "Mind Breath." They have made many regional showings playing events and venues such as River Roots Live, Riversance Art Festival, and The Redstone Room. They have shared the stage with many talented acts such as John Brown's Body, Passafire, Ballyhoo!, and Mustard Plug.
This program will air on Iowa Public Radio's Studio One Saturday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. Stay tuned for more fresh brewed artists!
