Art and Soul-Ben Shedd
Guy Hand (2009-01-07)
Art and Soul-Ben Shedd
BOISE, ID (idaho) - Film maker Ben Shedd specializes in science documentaries. He worked as producer, director, and writer on the first three seasons of the groundbreaking PBS series NOVA. Then, in 1978, he won an Academy Award for his independent film The Flight of the Gossamer Condor. After moving to Idaho five years ago, Shedd continued to look for stories worth filming. He found one in downtown Boise.
As part of our series Art and Soul, a profile of Idaho artists, correspondent Guy Hand visits with Ben Shedd. He learns that filmmakers and scientists share a common quest for creativity.
