Art and Soul-Horace Axtell
PACIFIC NORTHWEST (idaho) - Horace Axtell has devoted himself to preserving,
practicing, and teaching the age-old traditions of his people. For
that work Nez Perce tribal elder has received numerous
awards and accolades. The National Endowment for the Arts recently
recognized Axtell for his preservation of Nez Perce culture, arts,
language, and religious beliefs at a ceremony in Washington D.C.

As part of our series Art and Soul, a profile of Idaho artists,
correspondent Guy Hand visits with Horace Axtell.
