Idaho's New Episcopal Bishop
Don Wimberly (2008-11-20)
Idaho Episcopal Bishop Brian Thom
BOISE, IDAHO (idaho) - The Episcopal Diocese of Idaho has a new Bishop. Rev. Brian Thom of Twin Falls last month assumed the role of Bishop last month after serving 17 years at the Church of the Ascension in Twin Falls. Several years ago, Thom supported the election of the Episcopal Church's first openly gay bishop, Gene Robinson of New Hampshire. That controversy prompted heated debate within the Episcopal community in Idaho. It also threatened to split the 400 year old Anglican Church worldwide. Boise State Radio's Don Wimberly talked with Bishop Thom at his Boise office about the controversy and his concept of "inclusion" . © Copyright 2010, idaho
