Art and Soul-Frank Werner
Guy Hand (2008-10-29)
Art and Soul-Frank Werner
ST. MARIES, ID (idaho) - Idaho artist and decoy-maker Frank Werner says duck decoys are built to deceive. They deceive ducks, of course. But after meeting Werner, you might wonder if he also builds his decoys to deceive, or at least provoke the art world. He certainly doesn't mind ruffling a few feathers.
As part of our series Art and Soul - a profile of Idaho artists, correspondent Guy Hand travels to St. Maries to learn how Frank Werner uses decoys to hunt ducks and the meaning of art. Includes a web extra-Frank Werner plays a little Mozart on his duck call!
