Opinions Mixed on Boise's Last Googie

BOISE IDAHO (idaho) - In the post war days of the 1950s, America experienced a building boom. Art deco offices and Victorian homes fell like grass to the lawnmower. Today the mid-century buildings that replaced their historic ancestors are getting old. Some preservationists want to put as much effort into saving 1950s diners and 60s ranch houses as they would into preserving a 19th century mansion. Last week a symposium for mid-century architectural enthusiasts took place in Boise. Boise State Radio's Adam Cotterell found out some Mid-century architectural styles may not make it to the middle of the 21st century. © Copyright 2009, idaho
