Mercury Detectives
Krisi Packer (2008-08-06)
BOISE, ID (idaho) - A mercury spill in West Boise continues to make local headlines. The element was found last month when two children started showing signs of mercury poisoning. The spill was thought to be small, about two tablespoons worth. But when the Environmental Protection Agency showed up, two houses had been contaminated from the inside out. Homes were evacuated and bulldozers were brought in to chop up lawns and driveways. Boise State Radio's Krisi Packer visited the site to talk to the mercury detectives, and to find out what goes on behind the scenes of a mercury clean-up. © Copyright 2009, idaho
