Minnick on Earmarks
(2010-03-12)
(idaho) - Congressional earmarks are a hot topic this week. House Republicans Thursday said they would not seek any congressional earmarks this year. This comes a day after House Democrats imposed a ban on earmarks that benefit private, for-profit companies. That leaves the door open for earmarks for non-profits and others. Idaho Representative Walt Minnick is one of just four people in his caucus refusing to seek any earmarks - and he wants a total ban on the practice, forever. Minnick tells Boise State Radio's Samantha Wright he has a plan to "de-pork-ify" every bill in Congress. © Copyright 2012, idaho
