PRI's The World - Geo Quiz Podcast 226
Tibet in the Adirondacks We're looking for the capital of Tibet. This city is located 12,000 feet up on the Tibetan Plateau. This mountainous capital's name means the "place of gods"... though its ancient name translates as the "place of goats". Tibetan Buddhists regard it as their holiest city. It's a mostly unknown city to many Tibetan children in the U-S. But there's a camp closer to home, in New York's Adirondacks in fact, that offers Tibetan-American kids a chance to explore their roots. We'll visit this Tibetan camp ...but first try and name the Tibetan capital.

The World's Geo Quiz tests your knowledge of world geography, and introduces you to fascinating people and places around the globe. The World is a US-based international news and analysis program co-produced by the BBC World Service, Public Radio International, and WGBH Boston.
