Five Years Later - Antiwar Protest
Demostrators have targeted federal buildings, defense contractors, oil industry groups and military bases across the country today to mark the fifth anniversary of the start of the Iraq war.
The protests are being held in large cities, from Miami to San Francisco, and small towns from New England to the Midwest.
In Vermont, protesters blocked the parking lot entrance to a General Dynamics building. One said he was there "to say no to war profiteering and yes to building a peace economy."
A number of demonstrations are also taking place across Ohio today.
In Miami, half a dozen anti-war protesters dressed in black placed flowers outside the U.S. Southern Command during rush hour this morning.
There have also been arrests. About 30 people were detained by police at the IRS building in Washington, D.C. Police also dragged people from the street in front of the American Peroleum Institute in Washington. © Copyright 2012, Associated Press
