In January, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will present its popular “What Makes Us Tick?” event, an analytical film and discussion series that explores aspects of the human experience. This year’s theme is “Portraits of Intimacy: exploring the bonds of family, friendship, love and betrayal.” All screenings will be held from January 17-19, 2014 at the University of Delaware Virden Center, 700 Pilottown Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
Three selected films will be used to explore human relationships. The films illustrate the joy and strength that grow from the bonds of close friendships, family, and romantic love, as well as the pain experienced by betrayal. Post-screening discussions will look at how individuals are transformed by these bonds of intimacy and attachment, and how relationships change. Each film will feature an introduction by Jay Schiavo and a post-screening discussion facilitated by a mental health professional.
“What Makes Us Tick?” is open to the general public and RBFS members. Admission prices for RBFS members are $12 per screening and $14 per screening for the general public. Ticket price includes complimentary coffee and tea served prior to each screening.
