Katherine Kenny and Eleanor Randrup, co-authors of Courageous Women of Maryland, will be the featured speakers at the monthly Brown Bag Lunch on Thursday, December 19, at the Easton Branch of the Talbot County Free Library, 100 W. Dover Street.
There is no charge for this public program sponsored by the Friends of the Talbot County Free Library. Guests are invited to bring their lunch if they like or just come to listen. Coffee and sweets will be provided. The program begins at noon and lasts approximately one hour.
The transplanted New Englanders, Kenny from Vermont and Randrup from Connecticut, were not only colleagues at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, they also became good friends. Kenny was the lower school librarian and Randrup a classroom teacher, each with 30 years as faculty members at the School. In retirement, Kenny and Randrup have remained close friends and colleagues, having collaborated on two books, Juanita Jackson Mitchell: Freedom Fighter and, more recently, Courageous Women of Maryland.
For this latest book, the authors selected 18 of Marylandís most influential and successful women, past and present, including Senator Barbara Mikulski. The book relates how each overcame insurmountable odds and achieved success. Kenny and Randrup are wonderful story tellers who will share interesting, and often surprising details, about these courageous women.
Come and find out who else is included among this select group of women.
